My Hair Care Routine

I’ve gotten a lot of questions from you guys about how I keep my hair healthy with all of the travel and styling I have to do. I’ve tried SO many different hair products though my cheer and dance years but it wasn’t until I started modeling that I really nailed down the products that work for me. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that hair is specific to you, so while something may work for me, it may not be the case for someone else. This blog post contains products that work for me, (someone with fine, wavy and non-color treated hair) and while a lot of these products are versatile, I like to be transparent with you guys and say that especially with hair care, sometimes you have to experiment with products to see what works for you. My suggestion? Try to buy a sample size whenever you can and always consult with your hair stylist for their recs first. I hope you find some new products to try and make sure to leave a comment below if you want to see more beauty blogs like this. I should also mention my dad has been a hairstylist and owned a salon for 30 years so I accredit him with all these tips and tricks!

Hair Health Tips

  • sleep with a silk pillowcase like this one

  • Don’t wash your hair every day (i wash my hair twice a week max)

  • always use heat protectant

  • Take a hair vitamin (I love these ones)

  • avoid color treating your hair (opt for balayage or styles that don’t need so much up keep)

  • stop buying “brand name products” at retailers like tj maxx and CVS-there’s a reason top quality salon products can only be bought in a salon and yes it’s because they’re that much better

  • upgrade your shampoo and conditioner (if there’s one thing you splurge on it’s this) My Favorite is Goldwell

  • still reading this list? buy a filtered shower head… it will change your life.

Shampoo & Conditioner

1. Oribe signature shampoo + CONDITIONER

While shampoo and conditioner are probably the products I switch up the most, Oribe and Goldwell are always staples in my shower.

2. Bumble and bumble sunday clarifying shampoo $27

Clarifying shampoos are definitely a necessity to get rid of build up. I usually use this once every two weeks, but depending on how many products you are regularly using, once a week may work better.

3. Oribe Signature Moisture Hair Masque $63

Hair masks are an essential part of a hair care routine if you want to keep your hair hydrated. I slack on this task big time. But this Oribe one is amazing according to @sassbykass who did my hair for my wedding!

4. Olaplex No. 3 Hair Protector $28

Olaplex has actually never worked for me. It weighs my hair down and I just don’t love it but everyone I’ve spoken too that uses it is obsessed so if you are too I’ve added their hair mask in.

after shower

1. Gisou Hair Perfume $44

An absolute must-have. It makes my hair smell amazing.

Styling

1. Revlon One Step Hair Dryer and Voluminizer Brush $59.99

If I’m going to blow dry my hair, it’s usually with this product. It’s super quick and easy and you can essentially give yourself a DIY salon blowout. My trick with this is to let you hair air dry for an hour or so if you have time before drying it. I always make sure to use some kind of heat protectant and anti frizz before using the Revlon brush or else it will leave my hair frizzy. If you color treat your hair or have any sort of damage avoid this brush or opt for using it only once a week which is what I do.

2. T3 Twirl Trio Set $335

This curling iron is perfect. I had to call in the big guns for this rec since it’s been years since I’ve bought a new styling tool (mine is currently no longer being made). The interchangeable barrels are 1 in, 1.25 in and 1.5 in, so you have everything you need. The heat is adjustable and it’s super fast to heat up. I typically curl my hair in sections, usually 3-4, and I pin up my hair with any kind of big hair pins like these Drybar ones.

3. T3 Lucea Straightener $149.99

I don’t use a straightener but I’ve heard incredible things about this one.

4. Drybar rollers $12

These are a necessity for heatless styles and VOLUME.

1. Ouai hair oil $28

This is my go-to hair oil for sleek and shiny hair.

Other favorites

1. Oribe Superfine Strong Hairspray $42

This is my go to for making my styles last.

2. Living proof phd dry shampoo $26

This is the one of my favorite dry shampoos. It never leaves residue, blends in super easily, and makes my hair look freshly washed. I got to visit the Living Proof factory and the technology in this product is insane.

3. DRYBAR HOT TODDY HEAT PROTECTANT $29

I use this before using any kind of styling tool to protect my hair and keep it healthy!

4. Ouai detangling and anti frizz leave-in conditioner $26

This leave-in also functions as a heat protectant and it’s one of those great every day products I use to keep my hair looking shiny and healthy.

5. Bumble and Bumble Pret-a-Powder Tres Invisible Dry Shampoo $29

I’m obsessed with this dry shampoo as well. Gives me that volume I need and leaves my hair a little more textured at the roots.

6. IGK Beach Club Texture Spray $31

This is my go-to texture spray when my hair is looking lifeless to give it a pick-me-up. Spray this in while you’re curling your hair for more volume.

Products i use for my slicked bun

1. Texas Tease Teasing Brush $18

2. Ouai Matte Pomade $24

3. Drybar Money Maker Hair Spray $27

4. Hair Elastics $2.99

1. Drybar Hair Clips $19

These are a necessity for keeping my hair out of my face without ruining it while doing my makeup.
