Healthy Summer Drinks at Starbucks

T-minus two months until my wedding and I’m trying to make those small changes that keep me in check when it comes to what I eat or more importantly drink! You guys know I literally run on coffee but my frequent Starbucks runs can turn unhealthy quickly. Not the frappacino kind of unhealthy (I think we learned those were shit circa 2010) but honestly just the added sugar that comes from syrups I’m always adding to spice things up a bit. Thus I present this “Healthy Summer Drinks” blog where I’ve compiled a list of 8 of my favorite healthy drinks from Starbucks that will help wake you up, keep you going and most importantly keep you in line with any of your health and wellness goals. I hope this list keeps you refreshed all summer long! Comment your favorite and tag me on instagram @bellatropeano if you try any of these!

1. Iced Skinny Latte

80 cals*

An iced skinny latte is a super low calorie and low carb option. It typically has nonfat milk, but you can opt for dairy free milk like me. Sometimes I like to add some of Starbucks’ sugar free syrup options as well. Recently my go-to has been an iced skinny vanilla latte with oat milk!

2. Iced Americano

15 calories

These are the best when you really need a pick me up, especially with only 15 calories and 3 carbs. I usually order it black, but you can always add a twist! Trying to ease into drinking black coffee? Ask for a dash of cinnamon or cocoa powder.

3.Shaken Tazo Iced Black Tea Lemonade

50 cals

The black tea lemonade is a little bit sweet and a lot more fun for summer. It’s like a fancy Arnold Palmer- so refreshing.

4. Iced Green Tea

0 cals

The iced green tea at Starbucks is so delicious. It’s blended with mint, lemon verbena and lemongrass. Green tea has tons of health benefits including potentially increased fat burning and improved brain function (healthline.com). It’s overall a great calorie-free way to get some caffeine. Sometimes green tea can taste a little plain so I like to add two pumps of raspberry syrup just for a special little something.

5. Iced Coffee with Unsweetened Cinnamon Dolce Syrup and Almond Milk

20 calories

Iced coffee with almond milk is one of my go-to’s at any coffee place, but the sugar free cinnamon dolce syrup at Starbucks is the perfect way to spice that basic order up without adding any calories. Obviously artificial sweeteners have their cons as well, so keep in mind what your health goals are, and try not to get them every day! Pro tip: ask your barista to blend some cold foam with cinnamon for a frothy topping!

6. Iced Passion Tango Tea

0 calories

This iced tea is another one of my favorites. I love the fruity blend of hibiscus, lemongrass and apple. It’s my favorite for when I want something sweet without any sugar! When your barista asks you if you want lemonade or simple syrup added, a polite decline is what keeps this sugar free and 0 calories.

7. Iced Matcha Latte

200 calories

Okay, so this one isn’t the healthiest on the list with 200 calories and 29 carbs. However, if you order it with a dairy-free milk alternative, it can be a great treat. Matcha also can have health benefits, with its high level of antioxidants and beneficial plant compounds (healthline.com) and this drink will most definitely boost your energy. Starbucks matcha does have added sugar, which is why it tastes so good, but an almond milk swap helps keep the calories down!

8. Violet Drink

110 Calories

The Violet drink is a Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher blended with coconut milk. It’s creamy yet still refreshing and I love the sweetness of blackberries mixed with the tart hibiscus.
