We're Engaged! {1-4-20}
1-4-20 Brian and I got engaged and I honestly still can’t put into words how excited I am to spend the rest of my life with someone who is as funny, loving, kind and patient as he is! Our love story started four years ago and I can’t wait to watch it unfold each and every day as we take on new adventures together.
A couple weeks ago we spent the most amazing weekend celebrating our engagement and it was one of the best weekends of our relationship to date. To have our love surrounded by our incredible family and friends was the most heart warming thing I’ve truly ever experienced. For us, a formal engagement party was the way to go, as we got to celebrate the recent festivities and catch up with friends knowing we’ll be having a longer engagement and recently just moved to Florida for the start of baseball season. It was also the perfect way to try out various vendors if your party is in the same city you plan to get married. So with that, I wanted to put together a blog post to share some of our favorite moments and the vendors we used for the party!
A List of Our Vendors
1.Flowers by Donald Anthony
Donnie created spectacular centerpieces for our party and went above and beyond to listen to our requests. Our color scheme for the night was white with silver accents, so we asked Donnie to create arrangements that used our colors and incorporated an elegant yet timeless flare. We found these silver mercury glass containers on Pinterest and Donnie found them and executed the arrangements perfectly!
2.Dainty Scripts Custom Designs
Maura created us beautiful signs that added the perfect personal touch we needed to make guests feel welcomed. The sign below sat in the entryway of the room next to our gift table. This is my second time working with Maura on the fly (like literally days before an event) and she is always a superstar. Maura worked with me on exactly what I wanted the sign to say, how I wanted the layout to appear and of course what colors I wanted to incorporate. Her lovely script is not only unique, but it also gives you the ability to truly customize a piece. The best part about this sign and the smaller one which quoted our wedding hashtag, #thatsarapp, is that we can take them home and display them in memory of the evening. While Maura works on an array of surfaces (her latest cheese boards are adorable), this sign was made on plexiglass!
3. Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse - Seaport Boston
Our event was held at Davio’s newest Seaport location and we cannot say enough good things! This was actually our second event there, our first was a joint college graduation celebration, so it held a special place in our hearts to be back celebrating another major life milestone there. Everything from the gorgeous windowed room with a 180 degree view of the water to the incredible staff and coordinator was perfection. Not to mention Davios’ food and bite sized desserts were a hit!
4. Justin Hammond photography
We had Justin Hammond capture our evening and he did just that and more! He made our party come alive through photos and gave us some amazing memories. For more photos by Justin and some of our favorite moments from the night check out the carousel below. All the photos in this blog were taken by him!
5. Fig Balloon Co.
When searching for a balloon vendor for our party I looked no further than Katie from Fig Balloon Co., for the amount of people that recommended her was a tell tale sign she was a pro. Katie was so patient with us while working to make our vision come alive, and created this spectacular ballon half arch that stood as one of the focal points of our party and place for guests to take photos. She installed the entire thing before we arrived then added beautiful silver orb balloons with silk ribbons around the room to fill the space and create an elegant ambience for the cocktail evening.
